Lightweight, Portable, Practice Floors for All Styles of Dance, Anywhere.
Light enough to fold or roll up into the back of a small car, our portable home practice floors are versatile, durable, and practical. Now you can dance wherever you can find a flat surface - mud, gravel, carpet, grass or pavement, you really can practice anywhere. These unique floors are handmade in small batches by our founder, craftsman Graham Colyer.
Weighing only 16kgs, and with no metal parts, this Practice Floor is designed for home use on carpet or a flat, hard floor. Two panels are hinged in the centre for compact storage, and open out to make a 1.2m x 1.2m x 18mm varnished floor: the edge is chamfered all round. £78 + £25 postage.
The Acoustic Tap Floor is similar to the Practice Floor, but lighter, at 7 kgs. It is made of unvarnished 12mm ply on softwood battens, and chamfered all round. It makes a good sound. The size is 1.235m x .825m x 25mm. £61 + £20 postage.
Roll Up Dance Mat
These performance mats are made in the traditional way, of 32 x 9 slats, on a canvas back - like the lid of a roll-top desk. They give a good sound for percussive dance with tap/hard shoes, and are easy to roll-up and carry. Please enquire for an ex-stock quotation. Made any size, to order, in maple at £22.50 per square foot, and in pine at £12.50 per square foot.
Nice and Easy Practice Floors
The Nice and Easy system is mostly used for the larger floors for events. However, it can also work very well as small as 6' x 6' (1.8m x 1.8m). It has the advantage of being expandable, so can increase with further panels to any size you require.
It is made of 18mm birch ply, engineered to lock together with no fixing . The panels are either 2' x 4' (0.6m x 1.2m) or 2' x 2' (0.6m x 0.6m). The larger panels weigh just over 8kg each. The panels are then finished in a very hard wearing varnish, with our signature pin strip pattern. It is a great looking floor!
